Karate Classes
We teach a very traditional style of Okinawan karate involving empty-hand techniques, weaponry, and joint locks, all with real life application for today's world rather than tournament style. |
Jiu Jitsu Classes
We teach a style of Jiu Jitsu involving throws and takedowns, joint locks, submissions, striking, ground fighting and weapons defenses. |
Dojo News
Isao Kise (1957-2025):
It is with deep sorrow that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved Kaicho, Isao Kise, on February 4, 2025. As president of our federation, his leadership, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to the art of Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Matsumura Orthodox Karate will be greatly missed by all of us.
In accordance with Kaicho’s wishes and with the full support of Grand Master Fusei Kise, the OSMKKF Board of Directors—Hanshi John Shipes, Hanshi Jeff Ader, and Kyoshi Loren Engelby—will assume the leadership of our federation.

Instructors have the right to require anyone not following these rules to leave the dojo:

Rules for the Dojo:
Instructors have the right to require anyone not following these rules to leave the dojo:
- Students will NOT be allowed to attend classes at the dojo unless their lesson fees have been paid up front. Reminder, all lesson fees are to be paid ahead of time, not after the month has started (For example: July lesson fees are to be paid by end of June).
- Parents and visitors are allowed in the dojo during classes, but only if the dojo is NOT overly crowded and only if they are NOT disrupting classes.
- Students are to stay home if they feel sick or anyone in their household is sick or feeling sick.
- Students are to practice good hygiene. Coughing/sneezing should be done into their elbow and not into the open air or towards anyone. Hands should be sanitized upon entering and leaving the dojo.
